Matthew Thornton, Ph.D.
A contributing member of the website www.mindfortherapy.com, Matt helped to found and initiate the website. Mind for Therapy is devoted to exploring the creative and innovative practices of psychotherapy that produce transformation in both the client and the therapist. Mind for Therapy is pursuing a resurgence of the momentum of the original family therapy movement that was intended to be a new paradigm in mental health.
Matt is the director of the clinical services division at the Center for Children and Families (www.cfcfnela.org). CFCF is a non-profit organization that operates with the commitment of being “dedicated to the promotion of safe, healthy environments for children and families through advocacy, counseling, education, and prevention”.
Matt is also a developer of the website www.therapyroad.com, which provides a platform for therapists and clients to have healing interactions online.
Matt currently serves as the editor of the Journal for the Study of Human Interaction and Family Therapy (SHIFT) and has authored several eBooks published by MindForTherapy.

He currently works with Brad at the Center for Children and Families providing supervision and family therapy to the impoverished people of Louisiana's Northeast Region. Matt directs 4 treatment programs that work with children, youth, and families.
